Hours: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
When volunteers are available!
The purpose of the substation is to inform the public of services
available through the Police Department and to contact the public in a positive manner.
Children and youth may be fingerprinted at the Substation
North. The booklet Youth Identification and Protection Handbook
contains a wealth of valuable information concerning child protection and safety. A copy
is given with each set of fingerprints taken.
RSVP
Personnel are RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEERS under the
auspices of RSVP. It is part of the Corporation for National and
Community Service.
RSVP exists so that someone who is retired, with
knowledge and energy to spare, can make a difference in our community. VOLUNTEER!!
YOU are needed at the Police Department's Substation North. The hours are flexible and the
work satisfying.
If you enjoy meeting the public and wish to make a significant
contribution to Roswell, drop by the Substation, get acquainted and ask about the
volunteer program.

DRUG ABUSE RESISTANCE EDUCATION
There is a wide array of pamphlets available concerning DARE
(Drug Abuse Resistance Education). Directed toward school age children, kindergarten - 8th
grade, to teach life skills to say No to offers of drugs; GREAT
(Gang Resistance, Education and Training). Specially trained officers present ten 45
minute sessions to 7th grade students; CRIME STOPPERS (A program
in which citizens can give information concerning a specific crime and remain anonymous.);
Alcohol; Child Protection; Emergency Preparedness; Bike Safety; and many other helpful
pamphlets.
CRIME PREVENTION
The purpose of crime prevention is to make the public aware of information
and techniques that nay help keep them from becoming victims of crime. The Unit is
involved in some 70 different programs and activities, such as: Neighborhood Watch,
Business Watch, Operation ID, Buckle Bear, McGruff, Security Survey, etc. Crime Prevention
officers address civic groups, teachers, bankers and other professional people about
personal safety, drugs, gangs and other topics as requested.
